Rooted in ancestral knowledge and modern apothecary practices, our mission is to nourish the body, uplift the spirit, and awaken consciousness through ethically made soaps, oils, and wellness goods.
We believe self-care is sacred, not superficial. Every product is created with purpose, using thoughtful ingredients, cultural respect, and energy rooted in love, resilience, and community. Woke Soap is more than skincare, it is medicine for the spirit, a reminder of our worth, and a celebration of surviving, thriving, and reclaiming wellness on our own terms.

About Me
My name is Eileen Backman, and I am the founder and heart behind Woke Soap.
Woke Soap was born from survival, creativity, and a deep desire to heal, not only myself, but my family and community. What started nearly a decade ago as a way to create clean, intentional body care has grown into a spiritual apothecary rooted in Indigenous wisdom, lived experience, and self-love.
I am an Indigenous woman, a mother, and an entrepreneur who believes that self-care is sacred. I create every product with purpose, blending ancestral knowledge, plant medicine, and modern apothecary practices to nourish the body and spirit. My work is inspired by the land, by resilience, and by the women who came before me, the ones who survived so that we could heal.
Woke Soap is more than skincare. It is ceremony in everyday form. It is about reclaiming wellness, honoring our bodies, and building generational wealth through creativity and intention. Every bar of soap, oil, and ritual item is made with love, respect, and the belief that healing can be both powerful and accessible.
Through Woke Soap and its sister brands, I am building spaces that uplift community, celebrate culture, and remind people of their worth. This work is personal. It is my story, my purpose, and my offering to the world.
